Checking the cold fan
Discussion
I currently have hot air fans but no cold air fans, my aircon light also comes on but no aircon (probably just regas required)
I have read that the hot air fans can sieze but can this also happen to the cold fans? Before I send my heater box unit off for a checkup how can I check the fans and/or other potential faulty areas which would cause the cold air fans to not work?
Any guidance would be helpful.

Hi Adz how's things?
Cold Air Fan is in the drivers Side, Hot in the passenger. Never been near the cold one only the hot. I would Try what has been suggested first. If you do get a 12v feed, Connect a direct 12v supply to the fan and see if it spins just briefly mind in case it has seized up this will prove for sure what is wrong and eliminate a bad connection as well before pulling the damn thing out.

Yep -as scotty says - cold fan is in the drivers footwell and is even worse than the hot one to get to so I would do as much testing as possible before diving in. It is just standard electrical checks really - check the output from the heater control box in the passenger footwell first and take it from there working back to the dash buttons if there is no output and down to the fan motor if there is.
Thanks chaps, yeah all is good Scotty, just trying to get around to sorting a few of these problems out. After a decent drive in her earlier this week in 30+degrees at slow speeds I decided I need to get the bloody cold fan/aircon working sooner rather than later!
I thought it might be in the drivers side but I will work back from the heater box.
Excuse my stupid questions but how will I know which output goes to the cold fan from the back of the box? Is there a wiring diagram available for the connector?

FWIW my AC stopped working last year (press button but no light) as the solid pipe from the compressor had fractured, had it replaced and regassed etc but it did the same again this year which is really annoying. I got a new pipe for free as it turned out to be a poor weld between pipe and nut but still had to stump up for the re-gas.
