Ok I'm new to this TVR world only having owned my TVR since last Thursday I thought I better ask this question.

What is the TVR code when seeing another TVR?

Is it code that TVR owners don't put there hand up to each other when passing one another on the road and acknowledging the fact hey we have a great taste in cars? driving

Is it code that we go to say hi and brush our hand through our hair like we was going to and think haha what a dummy got him he said hi? loser

Is it code just to look the other way as you go past and completely blanking the fact that there cant be another TVR owner that lives near me? whistle

Just a bit of fun but I have seen a few other TVR's on the road, and coming from a motorbike background wavey to all and got nothing back.

Cheers,

Jon

The code is usually flash and wave, well it is round here.

The main problem comes from some non enthusiast owners who don't recognise other TVRS as actually being TVRs. eg A Tuscan owner doesn't realise a Chim or a Griff as being a TVR.

Flash and wave works north of the border, always get the same back.

Glad someone asked this question. I to am new to TVR ownership, coming from MGB ownership where almost everyone in MGs Moggy Minors and even E Types give a wave.
Obviously with my S2, I am holding on to the steering wheel with both hands, to avoid being sucked out onto the road, but trying to look cool, so flash and wave ??

Always give a hearty wave to any other TVR - even Griffs. Also have been known to wave at other classic British cars, and have sometimes had responses.

I ran a Griff 500 for 3 years and 40k miles, so I think I am qualified to joke about TVR reliability.

By the way, the Integra Type-R (which I have sold), was a better car. When you grow up, you will learn that power is not everything.

And I'd like to see you try and keep up with me in my P1 on a country lane in your Tuscan... tongue out

Interesting selection of cars you have driven...

However, "better" is entirely subjective - and depends entirely on the person commenting, and their particular point of view and priorities...

Of course, you are right. And the Griff was certainly better at some things! E.g. grunt, rumble and looks.

During my 2 weeks of ownership I have seen 2 TVR's, both flashed at me. I have also had an E-Type owner point & wave and a Ferrari 360 driver gave me the thumbs up on the motorway!

Flash, and if I can make out enough detail, put a 'Spotted' message on the forum.

I always wave at any model of TIV I see on the road (if I'm in mine at the time), and just about always get a likewise response, except last evening when I was blanked twice in very short sucession by an imperious Tuscan driver in Letchworth. Lovely light blue conv it was, maybe a new owner who does'nt get the cameradery thing? Still, it's not compulsory is it?

My daily nail is a '62 Moggy and that gets lots of friendly attention from allcomers.

I give a wave, flash and if I can try and beep the horn, even if I'm in my daily driver which is a little Suzuki swift. I've had a few strange looks when in the daily but after all it's the code. I've even got the gf to wave to fellow tiv drivers if they pass her, even if I'm not in the car.

Just a subtle raised hand will suffice... However, if you forget you're not in your TVR and do it to other TVR drivers they think you're a nutter ...

Neither have I. I don't know if I've even seen another nearby since buying mine!
