So I'm looking at the New A Class A250 Engineered by AMG version.

Website is now live: http://www2.mercedes-benz.co.uk/content/unitedking...

The options seem a little steep as I would like (Sure that lot costs £4k which is silly):

- AMG Exclusive
- COMMAND Online
- Blind Spot Assist
- Harmon Kardon Speakers
- DAB

As far as I understand options on a Leased car are a waste of money right? Should I just go for the bog standard?

The exclusive package and COMAND will add something to the residual so you won't pay the total cost for those items, but you'll pay for the others. I guess they're only worth having if you see any value in them.

Haven't seen any lease prices yet for the new A but it has all the ingredients to make for low monthly payments. List prices a tad steep though. Probably wouldn't bother with COMAND as you can buy the Becker module for £250ish to retrofit nav into the standard infotainment system http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

In general factory options not worth it as they don't really add to the resale value

Just done excactly this on my car..... Becker from MB is nearly £500, on a lease the Becker system added worked out silly money....... so got one off ebay £150 new, un-opened box,,, slides straight into glovebox craddle, up and running in mins (took longer getting out of the box then fitting).

Too early, should start to come out soon though ready for the 62-plate.

The new A3 has recently hit the lease market though with some seriously attractive deals, best to follow this thread - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

This is what I got back from a dealer as lease...

With a £1000 deposit and 10,000 miles per year
36 x £466.91 with the optional residual value of £13,550.

Seems quite a poor deal?

Is that for the A3 or A-Class? Either way too expensive shouldn't be more than £200 - £300 a month for most models...

It's for the Mercedes, not remotely intrested in the A3 even if it was a bargain price!

Prices here too, way too expensive again!

Well my advice would be to play it safe with the options, they don't help in keeping the monthly price low and try and find somewhere who will do a reasonably high GFV. Also consider increasing the deposit. There are likely to be lots of offers on the new A-Class at launch but I suspect the mid range Sport diesels will be the volume sellers rather than the flagship petrol.

On another note, it looks like the launch cars will all include the Becker Map Pilot nav free of charge.

Also if it doesn't have to be the A-Class, Mercedes currently have some great offers on the new SLK and the 250 CDI can be had for arround £250pm - worth a look IMO.

We've sold a couple of engineered by AMGs so far; it seems to be the model people are happiest to pre-order without having seen/driven it.

I doubt you'll see many lease deals that a miles away from the advertised deals linked to above, as the UK allocation is somewhat smaller than we expected for 2013.

And if the CAR magazine group test this month is anything to go by, Mercedes will have no problem in selling them.

They loved it.

First deals are starting to show up, looking like £ 179.99+VAT PCM on a 6+23 CH agreement with 5k miles PA for the A180 Cdi BlueEfficiency AMG Sport. Not bad at all IMO. SE for £10 less PCM. Haven't seen any 250s though, as I said previously the diesels will be the volume seller with deals to be done.

Given the lack of expected volume next year I think dealers must be fking mental to be offering huge discounts on them alerady - I'd actually be inclined to suggest the above deal doesn't exist, given the feeling amongst the network at the moment.

Pretty sure the deal does exist, lots of other leasing broker type companies are offering similar. Main dealers probably won't match though as they don't always have access to the same manufacturer discounts. It was the same with the A3 deal a few months ago I mentioned earlier in the thread, that has ceased to be available but it did exist at the time.

Anybody seen any good deals about on these?

My Mrs "just happened" to pop into local MB dealership and is now very keen on one of these. Probably looking at the A250 AMG Sport petrol (she doesn't do huge mileage).
