Now that my wife has a sensible family car, I'm looking for a fun car, with two decent size rear seats for the odd times when I may be ferrying two of my kids somewhere - and I can't think of a three seater at the moment.

I tried a 997 yesterday but, even with me and the sales guy, we couldn't squeeze my fourteen year old son into the back seat.

Any Coupe that would do the job yet be interesting and different?

The RX8 is a good bet for this - it has plenty of space for two adults in the back.

Otherwise you're looking at bigger, heavier, more "saloonish" cars like the M3 or maybe Monaro? From what I remember, the various Muscle cars tend to have respectable rear seat space for children, so if you can live with LHD there's some options there.

Pony car of some sort? Mustang GT/Shelby or a Camaro have more room in the back and are quite usable, while still remaining high performance machines.

Not sure on your budget, but I suspect you could even be looking at the bonkers 670hp Shelby GT.

Is your wife the same size as the salesman? (No offence intended wink)

Ha - none taken.

She is 5 ft 2 inches tall and full of venom.

He was about 6 ft, 18 stone and built like a brick sthouse.

Oh and the 14 year old son is about 5 ft 8 inches and medium build.

thumbup So there's scope to move the passenger seat forwards to fit your son behind? Or did I misunderstand what you meant and the two of you couldn't push him into place? biggrin

Or you could put the poison dwarf* in the back.

Maybe I should explain further.

The poison dwarf won't go in it.

I will have one son in the passenger seat and one in the back from time to time. Mostly one or two seats will suffice.

Oh and if my OH is reading this - love you!
