You'll have to get them to remove these posts as well.

My FIL, who at 85 is a terrible driver.

But then, he's always been terrible. He firmly believes that it's OK to pull out in front of someone as they're not going to deliberately drive into him.

MY uncle was 90 in May - last week he drove a 200 mile route around North Wales as he & my auntie (she's 86) "fancied a bit of a run out" - he also plays golf at least 3 times a week (he's a bit miffed at the moment as his handicap has gone up to 14!).

Tom Delaney, who died a few years ago, was still racing his Lea Francis Hyper at the age of 95.

I recently had the pleasure of several laps round a soaking wet Kames circuit alongside Alex Graham in his Firenza. 70 years of age and my God can the man drive, totally at ease with his car. An absolute pleasure to spend some time with him.

On the other hand, my late Uncle gave up driving at 82... which was a relief for all of us.

My Granddad stopped way too late at about 92 years old (he's 94 now) because his retinas detach randomly and without warning. I mean he was deaf and pretty much blind anyway but the stubborn bd kept driving his 205 for ages anyway.

Better than being driven by my aunt I guess (she's a carer for him, for certain values of 'carer') as her driving is bloody awful. Took her 9 hours to get from Bedfordshire to West Wales on the motorway!

my grandfather was born in 1911 and is still driving, yes thats 101 years old... no one has been in a car with him for about 10 years for fear of not getting out alive. Its his independance, he only goes to the supermarket and garden centre to get his plants. He;s so stubborn i doubt he'd cope with a bus!!

In all seriousness, i do think he shouldn;t be driving, must be utter carnage behind him...

It must be interesting him ringing up for a car insurance quote.

I wouldn't be surprised if most car insurance computers couldn't
cope with his age.

Mind you, he might have 70-80 years NCB, which might be helpful.

Back on topic, a senior lady friend, 82 years old then and she was
still driving her Audi A4 at up to 200 kmh to visit her sister every
Sunday afternoon.

It puts another friend, 96 years old and still driving, in the shade.

My 89 year old grandad has a golf GTI, uses it reguarly. Gave me a lift the other day, had a race with a porsche.

Can't drive at night mind, I hope he can keep driving as long as possible because it seems to be the only thing keeping his mind young
