Bored of having the clio touring local b roads and fancied an escape this weekend to the dales, wanted to see buttertubs and the b6255.

What i want to know is, am i being foolish? Have read that police presence is rather large and the roads extremely busy, i dont want to over hoon as it's a holiday on from what pictures show is a very scary set of roads.

The main things are; is it worth the day and night stay? Will i reach a driving paradise? Or will it be another peak district-esque busy road madness?

Ohgodyes.

My favourite driving roads are in the Dales and Moors. Buttertubs has epic views but perhaps not the best driving road. My advice - go early, try to stay off the beaten path a bit, avoid really sunny days. Went in the MX-5 2 years ago this summer and although there was traffic only about 10% of the time was spent stuck behind somebody, most of the time it was pointing the nose at the apex and laughing!

I was back last October on my way through in the 9000 and although it was the wrong car I still had a blast, gorgeous morning and nothing on the road...

Damn, you have made me want to drive up there now...

Just leaving these here:

PS - had no issues with the Rozzers while I was there, just don't drive like a tool!

The Yorkshire Dales offer some great driving roads! I have been several times on TVR and PH runs out. However, I just wanted to post that I will be driving my TVR here in a couple of weeks.... Slightly excited.
