I have owned my 993 Carrera S for over 3 years and always planned to modify it to make it more involving. I'm not trying to make a widebody RS or GT2 look-a-like I'm simply modifying my car to make it unique to me.

The plan is to leave it looking pretty standard on the outside with most of the changes to suspension, brakes and interior.

The interior has been stripped of rear seats, all carpets and roof lining, original door panels (RS ones to go back in), stereo, electric window motors and passenger air bag. I am still in the process of removing the glue from the interior although the end is now in sight.

My dilemma is that I have a pair of Recaro seats to be fitted in the car and and at the same time I wanted to fit harnesses, do I go for a full or half roll cage and if so which supplier do I go for. Do any members have experience of cages for 993's?

IIRC the 993 cage is the same as the 964 one. There are lots to choose from, differing in size shape weight and ultimately cost...

Safety devices
Custom cages
Roll centre

To name but a few...

Call them up and find your local fitter and then take a look at their past work. Nothing spoils a cage like scruffy welding

Rollcentre will be able to make a rear without the lugs that the front attaches to. Custom Cages may be able to.

Rollcentre Racings cages arent always brilliant, but their prices are. That said, the inferior design on their 944 front cage is now duplicated by Safety Devices too!

Give Tony Littlejohn a call at GT Motorsport. Ha can fit you an exact Matter cage replica. His work is of excellent Quality. That way you have an authentic cage and either you or a future buyer have the option of converting the car to an exact clubsport spec.

Ooooh.... Now that sounds cool....

Just need my kids to grow a little bit more and start complaining that they don't fit in the rear seats any more and I'm there!

Not sure about the bolt in ones. Tony makes the propper welded in Motorsport cages. Even sources the steel tube from the correct company

Easiest option is a bolt in Heigo, completely reversible and very good quality
