Gaffa Tape, WD40 and an RAC card... hehe

...or more seriously, all the above plus...

Oil,
Premixed coolant,
Funnel,
Short Allen key set (Maplin code N78KB - £5),
Stubby Spanner set (Really handy - Maplin code N47GW - £12),
Ratchet screwdriver + bits,
Multimeter,
Socket Set,
Spare Fuses (both normal and main fuse),
Latex gloves,
Travel pack of cleansing wipes,
Small pack of dry wipes / disposable cloths.

I would add to the above:
Steve Heaths Chim Bible....to give to the AA man!

Punture repair cannister
I've always carried a wire joining block (plastic thing with screws!)
incase a cable broke.

Spare 100 amp fuse, a leatherman and the old AA card.

Only time the car broke down was a blown 100amp fuse and of course I didn't have a spare on me, oh the indignity of being towed 10 miles home on the back of my own Disco !

Good thinking - someone said about a spare throttle cable?

You seem a happy kind of a guy, and at least your belt would feel wanted and loved, even if slightly over-worked...
