When I was looking at XK's before buying mine I noticed there was a slight colour shade issue between the plastic parts (bumpers and skirts) and the rest of the car... Seems more prevalent on lighter colours, (even on brand new showroom cars) anyone else noticed this?

They fade at different rates. Red cars any manufacturer can look funny, had a Vauxhall Corsa last week front and back bumpers plastic original full red, the metal body milky pink, full deep t cut required to bring body back to match bumpers. My own jag is in midnight black, the bumpers look good as the day they came out of the showroom and so do the sills, however the metal body sections need a professional polish as the colour is going flat.
