Following on from my previous thread:

We've decided to get an inspection carried out but we're not sure who to use in the Kent area. Any recommendations?

Also, what sort of thing should we expect from the inspection? How detailed / foolproof are they?

Give Paragon a call (not quite Kent but close by) or have a chat with Project Nine Engineering in Marden

Project Nine have a good rep though not sure if they do PPI's. I would also get a leakdown/compression test done as well. I have had a Peter Morgan report done before on a purchase and that is pretty thorough (190 pt check)

The car was previously worked on by Paragon actually so will give them a try. Will look up project nine too. Thanks.

Anyone got any experience of either?

I have used Cliff at Project Nine on my 993. I rate him highly. I would doubt that he would do you a fancy report with pics etc like Peter Morgan but I am sure he'd give the car a good look over and tell you what was wrong and just charge you a couple of hours labour. I had nine excellence in Surrey do the same on a 996 4S I was looking at recently and they did exactly what I needed them to for £150. It would have been slightly more if I had had them check for damage in the bores but the car had other issues so we never got to that stage! Hope it all checks out. If it needs work doing then Cliff is certainly your man in our area for the older cars.

Thanks for everyone’s help on this. Just to close the topic out, I used Project Nine in the end after people spoke so highly of Cliff and I have to say the whole process was very good and the inspection seemed very thorough. All at a reasonable price too!

Glad that Cliff could help. He's a very busy guy but will always stop and chat about anything Porsche for half an hour or more.........
