parking in the Lake District

Going to the Lake District tomorrow and would love to travel in the V8V but wondering if anybody knows of any parking places in or around Keswick where it could be safely left for around 4 hours while I get dragged around by my son in an attempt to clear the arteries!

Any suggestions from locals or frequent visitors to the area appreciated.
