Hi Guys,

one of my contractors has just popped in and thinks that the battery in the fob for his freelander has gone flat. can it be opened like a normal key fob to change it?

he seems to think that it is a sealed waterproof unit. we cannot see any indents to get a screwdriver in to force it apart. its this type...

any help you can give is much appreciated.

Nothing definitive. Some places say it can be split but breaks a lot, but thats it.

I'll tell him to call LR in the morning.

Cheers paddy.

He took it to LR - they are £250 to replace. Crap rechargeable batteries.

Your insurers wouldnt like it.

Might do the trick though. Worth trying to save a few hundred quid.
