I went to our local supermarket this morning in our zafira.

All the parent and child spaces were full, so I had to park in a normal space

I came back to my car and found that some tt had opened their door on to my rear door causing damage. I've got no idea who did it, there's no CCTV footage. No note left on my car

Do I have ground to sue through the courts the store for not providing me with a parent and child space with the required room so I don't open my doors on to other cars, and vise versa?

Yep, same thing happened to me and I sued. They settled out of court to the tune of one and a half million in shares. Nice result.

Someone damages your car and it's the supermarket's fault?

Righto.

Eh? Sue them?

Go into the store and tell them what has happened. Ask politely to see the CCTV.

Failing that, report it to police to get a crime number, then go back and ask to see CCTV with crime number.

Failing that, you're on your own. It's not a nice thing to happen, but it happens. You could smash the door on the other side to make it match?

P.S. The above is only what I would try. If it isn't right, I'm sure someone on here can tell you what to do smile

My car would not have been damaged if they had provided me with a P & C space, why is that my fault?

Did you actually have kids with you?

If you did, were they your own?

bks.

If the supermarket had provided Sir with a P&C space someone could still have run a trolley into it.

But don't worry, you could probably sue the supermarket for that as well.

Some kind of force field around these spaces to protect your P&J Zafira from wayward car doors, is there?

But they did. You just didn't get out of bed early enough to park in it.

I don't think there's a law regarding P & C spaces ? The did provide the space but you are just unlucky on this occasion. So if you bought a shoe and tripped over would you sue the show manufacturer for making a show that's not fit for your purpose, princess?
