Im looking to relive my youth by putting together a bike from my past cycling days that I could never have afforded at the time.
So looking to acquire vintage frame and components from early 90's.
Ideally Reynolds 753, Dura ace, or campag C Record etc.
Where are the best places to acquire said parts/nos.

eBay I guess, but be prepared to be patient & wait for the correct parts/frame to come along. Become a member of the Retro Bike forum as there is plenty of good information to be had on there, plus a for sale/wanted section.
Dave Marsh/Universal Cycles in Rotherham, South Yorkshire is like an Aladins Cave of all things retro & vintage. He really knows his stuff & if he hasn't got it he'll be able to get you it. He usually has a good stock of steel frames & a huge amount of NOS & used vintage gear.
I was scouring eBay on & off for 2 years in order to buy my bike...as soon as it became available I contacted the seller to verify a few details then bought it. That was 7 years ago & I'll never sell it....

Been looking on eBay and can already feel the pain of getting the bike 99% complete and having to mortgage the house for the last missing bolt to finish the bike off.
If I wanted a new 753 frame who are the current builders of choice? It might make sense to get a custom fitted frame in a retro paint scheme.

I'd probably speak to Brian Rourke, that said I don't know if 753 is still produced. 953 is Reynolds top tier material now....Rourke's will do a custom frame for about £1500.
I'd stick with the proper vintage idea, the parts are out there. It's just a case of being patient & a bit lucky too.

Retrobike is a good forum with some well informed posters and a buy/sell section. While on the subject of 1990's bikes here's my mid-90s Cougar (then built by Terry Dolan) which I recently upgraded a little. I will probably put white tape on as those on Retrobike all seem to hate the splatter pattern stuff
