Selling private number plate?

Hi All,

I have a private plate to sell as I think it may be worth a fair bit but not really worth anything to me, I have contacted a couple of the companies that I found on google that buy and sell plates. They have given me a value for my plate but by the looks they just advertise/sell the plate and take a commission (I am guessing?)

Are these places worth dealing with? Are the valuations realistic? Are there any suggestions of who I should use?

I would rather not put it on an open forum but they are saying its worth around £4.5k. It could take the rest of time to sell at that price I guess.

Unless it spells a name , ie, JON, MEL etc £4500 sounds very good money

Thats pretty much what I thought, is there a better way of selling it?

PH classifieds/eBay ?
It may be worth asking MrReg for some advice on price.

sell privately PH or ebay etc... be prepared to sell for a LOT less than they valued it at!
