I've got my Chim' for everyday transport and an R6 for fun.
Could possibly live without a car, but not a bike

I did have a ZZR1400 - but sold it - couldn't keep both and had too many close runs with complete 'Cheeses Of Knob' in cars....and yep - life is too short.

But the bike was a rocket ship and upto 150mph (on a track, ahem) you couldn't change gear quickly enough!

Restricted to 186mph, but almost got there in 5th and making 6th gear redundant....

Awesome, awesome machine....

Pics?

Nice!.. I want one... I had the ZZR1100 years ago.. tuned up, re-jetted, air box mods etc... that too was a fantastic bike... but far too easy to do 140 on the motorways... got down to 100 and you thought you were stood still... I got a tickett in the end but fair play to the copper.. he waited until my average speed was under 100 mph and then stopped me wink Sunday morning, no one about.. and he was into bikes (thank goodness).. 3 point and £60 smile
so it had to go... now got a 1200 Bandit.. tuned etc... it's like an on-road trials bike.. loads of fun.. but you'd not was to go too fast for long which is probably as well laugh

Tuned RD350 powervalve and a Blackbird. Am selling e Blackbird as I am no longer commuting and the RD is SO much more fun to ride around on weekend/evening blasts. Most fun bike I have had by a country mile and you don't need to do mental speeds to get close to the limit.

A lot of my friends have gone down the Harley or BmW GS route so my old smoker keeps up no probs.

Blackbird is going to fund my Chimaera body off re-furb and engine recon currently underway in my garage

Oh and I also have my old 50k commuting ratbike 99 Fireblade that will be re-commisioned for any weekends away.

You've got me thinking about my old Suzuki GSXR750 SRAD model.
I installed a full Yoshimura exhaust system and had it dyno jetted and K&N filter.
Produced 115bhp which by today's sports bikes is nothing I know !
It really went though.
What that ZZR1400 must be like though ??? Would frighten the s**t out of me I'm sure !!!

After a life of bikes sold my Triumph Tiger last year.

Always had bikes, usually big trailies, trial bikes for club trials and a KTM 525 for those trail bike weekends away with the lads, happy days.....

Got an itch for a project bike but want to get the chim finished first, that will be 2015 then smile.

One of my favs,

It was pretty quick - and when I bought the bike the previous owner had only done 644 miles.

After the 600 mile service, he was told he could take it upto 5000 revs (I think) and when he did so on the way home, he decided he didn't want to keep it.

Once all the restrictions were off and the engine was run in, that first ride of full throttle i had was just awesome.

Bumbling along at 50mph in 5th and winding the throttle open gave immediate acceleration, which just never seemed to stop - you always ran out of road first....

Pretty scary at first, but it is amazing just how quick it becomes 'normal'!

Comfortable, for the rider, but the Mrs hated it - after coming from the 'sofa' of a Corbin saddled Blackbird, it's not really surprising. That was another reason for selling it, as the mrs and I enjoyed the biking - and she has no fear of speed at all, weighs 7 stone and I never knew she was on the back until the Autocom crackled into life, with her saying things like "that was a little close" .....

I think if I ever went back to bikes, I would probably have to consider a comfortable two up machine, but at the moment TVRs all the way!!!

I have 2 bikes (new old one delivered on Saturday)and a Chimaera. I recently sold a Tuscan purely because when the sun was out and dry the ZX10r was the weapon of choice so the Tuscan did not get used as much as it should have. The Chim is far more relaxed than the Tuscan so it is used for different things. And some piccys just for fun.

The new old one.

Chimaera and a Honda VFR owner here. Each used to get approx 50% of the summer miles a few years back, but since then getting a factory built Westfield and a T350c the bike rarely gets an outing frown Having said that though, nothing much else can really compare to the sensation of acceleration and speed that you get on a bike!
