Why would a reg not appear in FordEtis?

If I put CV04AMX into http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do;jse... it doesn't return anything.

A HPI check recognises it as an ST220 though. I'm just naturally suspicious, so wondered why.

Not neccessarily anything to be suspicious about, I was trying to find a Mondeo Business Edition the other day (12 plate) and it wouldn't find it. Not sure why but can guarentee that car was genuine as it was a Ford management car!

I can look into this when i get into work tomorrow. The data is supplied to us and my work collegue loads the data. Don't forget it may have had a different plate, then possibly a private plate, then another plate and this info sometimes doesn't get updated!! PS I build/produce/distribute the FordEtis IDS DVD's by the way....

Yep, i tried and yes you were right. This does happen occassionly. I would suggest obtaining the VIN and trying that instead.

As said, the car has had a plate change, Etis will only work on the original plate the car was 1st registered with.

Mine doesn't come up on etis after a plate change & some i know have had plate changes 3 or 4 years ago & dont come up.

So VIN numbers the way to go.

Totally different to etis buddy, the reg comes up on my autopart system at work also.

Possibly had a private plate thats been removed at some point and it was reassigned a new plate, Etis will only have this if the dealer has updated the records for the VIN number, try putting your VIN into etis and see what comes up

Yep, that's me. I'm the one who deploys Etis IDS software to production as well as builds/tests/distributes FordEtis IDS DVD's wor;dwide amongs many other things !!!!

So when does a car appear on etis chibbard? Once it has been allocated a chassis number or once it has been built?
