snaking side to side under heavy braking
Discussion
If its snaking under braking I would have a real good root round under the front with a light and good sized pry bar. Check all the joints and upper and lower swivels as well as wheel bearings etc. Also have a look at the condition and action of the dampers and springs. If it under heavy braking then might be worth asking your friendly MoT centre to check the braking performance on their rollers. Finally have a good look at the rack checking for play in its action and the anti roll bar U clamps and bushes. Let us know how you get on fella......

Jeff, They are the antiroll bar drop link bushes, and they can have the affect you've described if they're shot. Also worth replacing the bushes used to mount the antiroll bar to the chassis, and probably the large bushes that fix the tie bar to the chassis.
That's the boyos stevie. They are well shot mind. The anti roll bar bushes that fix to the chassis have been replaced a year or to ago with poly bushes. But that's where I'm gunna start on the tie bar and drop link and replace them with poly ones.Dix
Jeff, there's a bar that runs forward from the arb drop link area to the chassis (it has a threaded end and a big nut either side of the chassis - top right of your photo). I believe that the compliance bushes are the ones that this bar runs through at the chassis end.
I did mine 6 years ago with Poly and they seem fine still (after 15K miles)

and get yourself a 27mm ring spanner.
Jack the front up and axle stand it
lubricate up the thread and take off the 27mm nut, (might be 32mm, so get one of them too)
then got to the other end of the tie bar and take out the 2 x 19mm nuts and bolts that hold it to the bottom swinging arm.
Get you jack under the shock and jack it up a bit, not enough to take it off of the axle stands though!
wiggle out the tie bar
DO NOT MOVE THE REAR NUT!!!!!
take off the old donuts and replace making sure you put the right colour on the inside ( cant remember which way round, and to be honest, dont know why)
put it all back together.
Go for a drive
find out its still doing it
refurb the brakes because they are seized because you havent been driving the poor old girl.
Kiss and make up
drive it like its stolen.
Fall in love again!

Hi Dix..If its wiggling from the rear mine did that when the UJ's needed doing and a trailing arm bush had failed..I'd go over a bump in the road and delilah would shake her booty...
It's definatly not the rear Mark, albeit a fine rear that it is. The problems up front and I'm hoping its them worn bushes as they all look pretty poor undefined further inspection.
