Is it just me, or given the choice does anyone else prefer the coupe to the roadster ?.
I just think it looks a little 'Wilmslow'. Doesn't appeal to me I'm afraid.

Depends on the spec of either model. The white with red carbon press car does look very 'Wilmslow', but get the same car in a nicer spec and it would look miles better than a coupe (imo)

Not to me George, the rag top spoils the lines IMO.

Its just down to personal choice really. I think that the Coupe looks more squat, agressive and masculine, whereas the roadster is more elegant, sleek and feminine. As the convertible usually comes after the coupe there are quite often serious styling compromises to be made to the original lines of the coupe, which can in many cases result in an ugly sister. I dont think this is the case with the Vantage however as they really have done a top job with the roadster and I think the lines still work perfectly.

Every rag top I have owned has always gained a degree of "hairdresser's car" comments from somebody! Although convertibles are more fun and great to own in summer there is no getting away from the fact they are more often than not a tad girly compared to their tin top sibling.

Fair enough, I prefer the lines of the roadster when it has the roof down, with the roof up there's no contest to the coupe

I have to say that i do prefer the coupe in the Vantage too, as the lines and the shape of the car look much better, although in the db9 i would of considered a volante, as that looks good ( may be because its a longer car, and on a shorter wheelbase like the vantage the convertible just looks to feminine,

Coupes are alomost always better looking that the ragtop equivalents, much harder to sculpt a flowing roofline when there's no roof. I think AM did a bang-up jub with all their ragtops at Gaydon. The double-bubble on the tonneau of the roadster and Virage/DBS was a great idea, I'll get one for my DB9 in the end.

I prefer the look of the coupe, few cars look better in roof off version

however I prefer driving roof off...thats what a sportscar is to me...2 seats, no roof, big engine, nice noise, sunny day

perhaps they should have offered a hardtop, so it could look like a coupe some of the time

or even take the weight penalty and do a folding roof version to get 2 cars in one.....

Agreed, it does look feminine IMO, 'Gok Wang-esque'.
I would consider a rag top anywhere south of Bordeaux, but in Blighty...not a chance.

I do prefer the look of the coupe vs the roadster.
BUT having said that: I think the Vantage Roadster is the most beautiful convertible there is. It looks good with the top closed, and it looks great with the top down.

Currently own a V12V Coupe, but have a V12VR on order :-)

I think you need to sit in mine or Yeti's passenger seat for a while
I prefer the coupe looks but the roadster experience knocks it in to a cocked hat
Now a metal folding roof version that looks like the coupe would get my vote

360 and 430 I think both look better as Spiders. Other than that... not many!

Well certainly for sports coupes, it's hard to think of one. No Aston or Lambo. Maybe some vintage Ferraris, like the 250 GT California SWB ? Not so much better from roof off, but an all time classic stunner never the less. In fact that kind of mirrors the Vantage - the coupe is muscular & aggressive whilst the soft top is very very pretty

But that's all irrellevant to me - I spend more time in the car than looking at it and the various enhanced sensations from roof being down are too important to me to forgo on a Vantage.

not for me 360 and 430 in my eyes look better with the roof .....some soft tops look great with the roof down but bloody awful with the rag top up......e.g 360 and 430

The new 991 Porsche looks great with the roof up, has lines like the coupe
