Hi chaps

I've been very lucky been given an opportunity courtesy of Pirelli to go to Monza next month for the GP.

I can't wait - Monza to me is till the most iconic race track modern F1 still goes to.

Obviously, I'm going to go and look at the old banking but what else should I look out for ?

Monza virgin here too. Spa the weekend before and Revival the weekend after...doesn't get much better than that!

Where are you staying a do you have transport to the circuit sorted? If you're in Milan and need to use public transport to get there then there are free trains from the main station every 30 mins or something like that.

The trains were jam packed and it was a real scrum getting on at Monza station to come back but the journeys were very 'Italian' IYKWIM.

Pirelli are taking care of everything - I'm told there's a car picking us up and returning.

The banking, as mentioned. If you get a chance in a practice session, go to the inside of the lesmos. You will not believe how fast the F1 cars are through there.

On the way you usually stumble across an ItAlian couple who couldn't wait to get back to their apartment....

Anywhere good for photos in GA or roving grandstands? I was planning on using Friday to get a few snaps and wander round the whole track if possible. Is the banking easily accessible with GA?

It has been whenever I've been there (not for F1 though). Might involving climbing over a fence or through a hole!

Pictures, I'm not sure, it's quite flat, with fences. Should be OK from some of the grandstands though. This one is from the main stand on the S/F straight. http://jakobebrey.com/pictures_preview.asp?picture...

Sorry - bit excited! Silverstone 6 Hours and Oulton Park Gold Cup the weekend before too.

Will report back on my findings of Monza.

I deserve the punch. Seeing as all my friends are dying around me, I've decided life's too short to wait so my dad's dusting down the Aston and we're having a proper lads' road trip around Europe. Doing Nurburgring, Sinsheim, BMW Museum, Stelvio, Schlumpf and Rheims with the two Grand Prix and Goodwood as the major excursions. Should be a good'un...

I recommend renting a Fanvision unit, you will have all the information you expect when at home, but you can watch live action at your chosen chicane.

Your Friday GA will get you everywhere, except the paddock.

It's italy so if challenged shrug and carry on smile.

On the Friday I ended up driving the banking smile
