A quick post to all those Chinese Whisperers....
In the last six days I drove from to Lux to Snetterton to Newbury to St Austell to a track day at Cadwell Park then back to Lux.
2700 kms through traffic jams, free-flowing motorways, cities and countryside.
Never mised a beat.
The car I've owned the longest in my 38 years of driving.
Beautiful, potent and reliable.
'Nuff said.

"The car I've owned the longest in my 38 years of driving."
Which I think is one reason why the car has behaved itself. You have had time with this car and looked after it, recognize when it doesn't feel right and understand what it needs to keep it in good health.
Still, that's quite a journey! I think at some point I would have conceded to wear ear plugs.

Nice idea - and I appreciate the thought but I've treated all my vehicles with the same L'n'A.Which I think is one reason why the car has behaved itself. You have had time with this car and looked after it, recognize when it doesn't feel right and understand what it needs to keep it in good health.

I'm just old and have given up writing off cars after 18 months

Thanks Alan - The trip was only doable thanks to the generosity of PHers like yourself
…. and a final word to the Naysayers – In the end, you can talk about the pros and cons of “outdated chassis design” until the cows come home but the nut behind the wheel is the most important design factor when trying to reach the edge of the envelope.
Commiserations to the Lotus driver who tried to stay with Mad grahamn for three sessions at Cadders

Pass the Gaffer Tape, luv !
