Afternoon Folks

Does anyone on here have an S1 or S2 with factory fitted electric mirrors? If so where are the joystick and the switch mounted in the dash? (I was hoping to re-use the joystick and switch from my S3c spares car if they're the same). I've got an idea but if anyone could post a photo it would be very helpful.

I'm in the process of fitting FX4 taxi mirrors (also fitted to Ford Capris, Reliant Scimitars, early Lotus Esprits and TVR S Series) that were an option before Citroen CX mirrors were adopted. The good thing is that these mirrors should cover the hole left by removing the socket / ball fixing on the completely useless "bunny ear" style mirrors. Norman had some fitted to Gerald a few years back so I know it should work, don't know whether he wired his up though.

Any info much appreciated.....

I've made a start on trying to gte the electric mirrors on my S3C working. I suspect the wiring between switch and mirror is worong. Mirrors do work if powered directly.

Can't help with the S1/2 stuff but happy to swap ideas otherwise.

Oh, & if the S3C switches should become surplus to requirements I'd be happy to make an offer (but hoping that isn't the problem with mine!) wink

My S2 had these mirrors fitted, one of them was wiped out by a crow, so I now have mitubishi carisma mirrors. The selector and operating switch on my S are situated on the infill panel by the drivers knee, can I ask where did you scource your mirrors ?

Thanks for all the replys.

Norman, thanks for that, my memory serves me correctly - which is a surprise.

Steve, that's just what I was after thank you. I assume you mean mirrors not windows in your photo though!?! I got the mirrors from a taxi breaker who sells though ebay. They do turn up from time to time, although not as much as they used to. They were a bit scruffy when I got them though. I've stripped them down, repaired the spindles and had them shot blasted and powder coated in satin black.

Gary, when I've worked out how to wire them and got them working I'll drop you a line. I may be some time......
