ABS Sensor disintegrated?

the mrs was complaining her brakes were feeling funny so took it a run it felt like the ABS Sensor jumping or skipping put it in to the guy who does all the work on it and apparently the sensors were disintegrated. anybody know of this happening and why? its a 53 reg cooper s

apparently it was a worn part of sum magnet on sum sort of hub that was wearing it down and caused it to disintegrate
