What is or how do you 'hoon'?

This word 'hoon' has been a core of the PH philosophy from the start, however, I am still not entirely sure I get it?
Is it when you take your p&j for a drive of any discription, drive like you are on fire, drive for the hell of it or just a bimble to the shops?
Is the goon ruined if you scare yourself, if you can't shake the Zafira in the twisties, your car develops a fault?
Is it enhanced by a random occurrence like an act of goodwill by you or another road user, a stunning view opening up in front of you or driving through a rain storm onto a dry road?
Is it more about the enjoyment of simply driving or driving to the best of your ability or the car's?

For me a 'hoon' is when I go for a drive for no reason other than I have a car and some fuel.
It could be a fast run over some quiet roads, a night time run out into somewhere remote, or a nice slow run out on a summers day.
What you drive isn't important and how fast your drive doesn't matter, what does matter is not being a numpty and not annoying anyone else on purpose.

A hoon is never the same for me - sometimes I go out just for the sake of a drive. Sometimes I feel like cruising. Other times I feel like driving as though my pants were on fire, but however I drive I enjoy the process, feel and sensations of the car/ bike on the road.

At least in the 4 years I've been here!For me it is the slightly over the norm, spirited drive. Today i turned into my road with a rattly old prelude behind me, I could tell by the way he was usin the road that he was enjoying the drive. He encouraged me to pass my driveway and carry on another 5 miles or so just for the hell of it. Brilliant!

Even though (these days) I'm driving a diesel with a DSG box, a trip to the corner shop involves either a 5-minute walk or a drive up the bypass to the next town, followed by a return through the lanes
