The speedo use an air gap transender which is on the drivetrain this can need resetting from time to time, re-gapped and cleaned - common thing!

Dan, just checked your profile to see what year yours is, and you haven't even got a car! 
If it's an early one the transponder unit is on a brkt on top of the diff nose, The serrated wheel is at the back of the prop. This is all under the silencer/pipes and an absolute nightmare to get to.

Sorry! 94M 4.0HC with later gearbox! Its just a nightmare beacuse it will work one minute and not next!
