Almost certainly Sheffields most criminal driver, but quite likely not the worst driver.

It is frustrating when you read of persistent criminals such as this. They will be like this for the rest of their lives, are a massive drain on the system and society and the repeated short custodial sentences they receive have no effect on them.

You can't put him in prison for life and you can't put a bullet in the back of his head. What would be the best solution to deal with him?

Forced labour? At least get some use out of him. In the past people like this would be cannon fodder on the front line, press ganged into the Navy or deported to a far off colony.

It's depressing, though thankfully people like this are a small minority.

"10 months ago he became the carer of his six-year-old son"

Ah and what a role model he is; he's no doubt spawned the next generation of life long criminal.

Eyre was also given yet another driving ban, this time lasting for four years.
Like this will bother him.

I note his legal representative made a plea for him not to be jailed, but also commented a disqualification will make no difference. So just what is he recommending? Getting off scot-free?

Sharia law would potentially recommend the cutting-off his hands as a punishment. A bit draconian, but,it would solve the problem.

Almost certainly would not make one jot of difference to his behavior, but that's discounting the satisfaction the rest of us would get out of seeing a scrawny chav get a hiding.

Bring back the birch!

Why can't you put him in prison for life? Perhaps they should make prison such a hell hole that nobody would ever want to go back

Into the the army for all the expendable jobs I'd say

socially acceptable
Extreme bleeding heart liberalism, the rights of the criminal and all the other 'socially acceptable' supreme political correctness brigade is the reason 'we' cannot stop these muppets.

IMHO, if you repeatedly break your social contract with society (by this I mean the basics: don't steal, don't harm, don't kill, etc), that contract becomes null and void. If you want all the safety and benefits a decent society provides, then play by the rules. People make mistakes, that is a given, but blatant repeat offenders should loose their rights. How we deal with people like this numpty, I'm unsure (shame Australia is populated); however, for repeat offending paedophiles, rapists, murderers and other violent crime, I'd happily see lethal injection used. Why should society spend £100,000+ per annum keeping them contained when they have repeatedly shown they do not wish to live by the given rules of that society?

My vote would be a massive walled prison in the middle of a desert, give them some green houses for food and let them get on with it.

We used to do this, it's called Australia.
