Sure tyres has been done to death, but with search down, makes it hard to find topics (imo).

Looking at tyre options for my RL-7's.. Road tyres only seems to be Toyo and Conti who offer both the 235/40 and 255/40. Going to track tyres AD-08's etc start to become available.

Just wondering what you guys run.. Obviously tyres are at times a subjective thing.

I have rl7's as track wheels and run 235/40/17 front and 245/40/17 rear and that is goodyear eagle F1's

I ran these tyres for a year on the road and found them good before changing to spiders for the road.

Mark.

I have the 18" RL7's and have Eagle F1 on the rear and they seem very well planted. Will bung the same on the front when the time comes - which is very soon.

Kumho V70, hard compound, absolutely brilliant.

They do make the ride quite hard as the sidewalls are like steel but they grip like crazy dry or wet.

Oh yes they tram line quite a bit bit are worth it.

Expect 5K Miles + from a set.

I really can recommend these Federal 595 RS-R, plus there sensibly priced.

Not a fan of those Federals, seen pics of them with the tread blocks splitting.. Not keen on that as a trait for a tyre. Think F1's or Toyo's might be a shout this time, as rears are near new Toyos.

Then maybe go to a 245 rear for matching F1's or Kuhmos..

The Kuhmo's come in 235/40 and 255/40 in 17 inch, they suit the Cerb really well but then they were developed for the M3 racing series, RWD 400BHP cars weighing in at about 1100Kg :-)

I keep looking into these threads as I will be in need for some new tyres soon as well.

Interesting that with all those different brands it always comes down to F1 or R1R.

Anyone ever tested Continental, Vredestein, or else ... ?

Which ones would you recommend? I was looking at Kuhmo Ecsta XS but have been told they are really bad on wet roads.
