Bell 212.

A descendant of the UH-1 Iroquois that was used extensively by the US Army in Vietnam.

It's the broad two bladed rotors that make that thump-thump noise. The 212 has been around a long time now - since the early 70s.

Pretty sure this is the same helicopter that's been flying over us in Basingstoke the last few days. Might try and get a video because it sounds epic.

I had noticed him for the last month or so. You can hear him well long before he arrives, and just passed 1 minute ago.

It has a fluro Orange painted turbine cover.
