Rusty bolts and corroded wheels...
Discussion
Just wanted to know what the general experience is with members on here as regards rusty bolts and corroded wheels on a 997.1 C4S.
Obviously the car is 6 years old now, although still under Porsche warranty -
the bolts themselves are faily rusty, whilst the inside edge of the wheels is just starting to bubble with some paint flaking off.
I assume neither of the above would be covered under warranty, but wanted to check whether other members had experienced similar problems and whether certain OPCs looked more favourably on these for a warranty claim?
Thanks

My recently purchased 997 GT3 came with nice new wheel bolts - but otherwise I would have asked for them in the deal!
However at 6 years old - I would be surprised if an OPC replaced the bolts or refurbished the wheels -but then again - I've never asked! I just sorted them myself on my 3 year old Boxster ...

Bolts you can refurb with a bit of a brush and a dusting of silver paint. Or buy new ones.
Wheels slightly more tricky. If looked after in accordance with manufacturers instructions, there could be a claim. Problem is proving this; some over corrosive wheel cleaner or a bit of jet washing at point blank range by your faithful £5 valet team could have brought on this early wear. This is what the manufacturer might rightly claim so then you have a stalemate; unless of course you can get independent expert advice that suggests the manufacturing process was flawed. Good luck!
