I am using this stuff to make sure I don't forget what I have torqued or tightened during my build. It is I believe used for tamper protection as well, especially the fly-boys!

This is a revelation to me, as it is so easy to overlook something if you get distracted.

Safety is soooo important, especially if you are responsible!

By blobbing a little of this stuff on any bolt or nut I have properly tightened, I can easily see what I have missed or not, thus providing a measure of extra confidence, especially when I get to put this thing through its paces. It is also possible that it will impress the IVA boys on your diligence.

Coming in lots of different colours, you are spoilt for choice.

I know that some you you builders out there may already be using this stuff, but for those that don't I thoroughly recommend it.

So impressed I was for such a simple idea, it prompted me to have a chat with the supplier and he agreed to let me promote an offer to all you guys who wish to try this stuff, with a discount over any above internet rates (including ebay)!

How good is that!

I am NOT making a bean on this so there is no alternative agenda here...

Here goes:

Provided I can get a minimum order of 10 or more units (tubes) I can get a discount of 15% over and above any internet price on an initial purchase.

So Unit cost will be 3.35 each tube and what is more will be delivered free...

Colours - Please specify what colours you would like for the order:
green, orange, pink, red, black, white, blue, yellow and purple
(they say they have all colours in stock for next day dispatch)

Delivery Time - First Class Recorded - Next Day

Just start a list here of who is interested, and once I get beyond 10 - I will send you a PM on how to obtain your special order.

Torque seal in action:

Remember - I need at the very least 10 tubes committed to - ie 10 people at least (unless you want to order in bulk of course!)

Tell all your friends!
Enjoy!!!

I use a yellow paint pen, have done for about 9 years. Someone has re-invented the wheel there.

Horses for courses - paint or even tippex is ok if you want to do that, but for me the is the real stuff - it is as economical, is easy to find in your toolbox, and you just pop off the top and apply with a gentle squeeze. And you get to choose from all those fancy colours! nuts

This stuff for some might be an overkill, as its primary use is with the Aero boys as a double-check that all is torqued up, nothing has been tampered with, and you ain't going to fall out of the sky due to a loose fitting!

..but I have found it worthwhile and relatively cheap. So as a kit car builder myself, I am doing my bit and passing this on to you guys...

It is not just a marker as it solidifies hard (bit like nail-varnish), and if the bolt is disturbed, the blob cracks off it is very easy to see, even if the bolt fractionally moved.

Anyhow, I am mentioning it here only because I find it very useful and I managed to get the supplier to drop his price on a 'group buy' -

I have 25 already asked for, so thought I would extend the deal over to you guys.

I will be providing those who order with the contact details, and a code, and emailing the supplier Monday with the PHnames of all who want one....so the supplier knows to apply the extra discount to the purchase!

ssline - 1 blue

I am making the order on monday.

Well,

That's not bad! Over twenty PHers wanted the stuff!

I have emailed everyone who wanted to buy from the vendor with the special instruction they sent me.

Hope you found the link and discount useful!

Enjoy

Torqueseal is used in the aircraft industry and specially made for the job. The advantages over paint are:
It is used straight out of the tube - no brushes or cleanup required
It dries as a brittle blob, there is no elasticity. So if the fitting moves a bit, the torque seal will crack.

Using a visual indicator will enable you to check that fittings are correctly tightened without having to over tighten them to check, which with repeated checks can take the fitting out of spec.
It also means that you can check the security of vital fittings visually, which saves a LOT of time, and means that you will check more often. Applying a visual indicator allows a progress check during the build.
