Time For Tea? Polo R WRC gets jumpy

VW's rally car proves airborne ability on Finland shakedown

Our friends over at AxisOfOversteer seem to share a similar viewpoint on Ken Block's latest Gymkhana video, which would explain the tip of the wink and "You may notice any number of sideways jumps..." that accompany this rather cool video of the Polo R WRC out testing in Finland. And we thought we'd share with you here.

Feisty looking thing this Polo, seen here running with its S2000 Fabia cousin. Whetted your appetite for WRC 2013? It has ours, likewise the 220hp Polo WRC Concept road car VW showed earlier in the year at the Worthersee show, due for production late next year too. Looks like the forthcoming Renaultsport Clio might have a German rival waiting in the wings...

Nice. Good action shots. I must get back into the forests to watch some more rallying.
If only they could sort out the WRC.

That looks as sweet as hell and very stable. Nicely proportioned with the aero bits, I think it should do well!

Even with ex Ford director of team RS now at VW I don't see the Polo doing the business, the Clio will be more fun and out handle it allll dayyyyy lonnnng. Yeah the Polo will be built better but VW/Audi have form on not delivering handling. The bigger Golf is find being a top all round package but the next segment down... Hot hatches are expected to be properly focused. And I drive an Audi so I'm not batting for my brand but I've owned French hot hatchery in the past and RenaultSport are alway on their game.

Maybe, but that is surely only relevant to the road cars?

These are built using completely different parts!!

I'm sure it goes like the clappers but it does sound like a sewing machine at times...
