Went out to my car this afternoon and there was a note on the windscreen. Thought "here goes".

Turns out someone dented my car and drove off. A passer by left a note with the vehicle details and her contact details.

Not fussed about the damage, as it's a commuting snotter. Lights and mirrors all fine, no tyre damage etc.

Left a voice message saying "Thank you". Could take her on a date if she's single. smile

Will offer a small gift of chocolates, or something just as a sign off appreciation.

Nice to know some decent people still out there.

Look her up on Facebook and see if she's hot. Then post pics here.

Unless she did the denting, then left fake reg number/details, in the hope of landing a date? In which case well played her, as it seems to have worked biggrin

reminds of the notorious scribble:

"Hi I just hit your car, someone is watching so I'm pretending to leave you my details. Sorry, bye!"

As a good citizen I did the same in Manchester City Centre a month or two back, council bin Ben smashed off the wing mirror of a brand new VW camper thing. Just left them a message saying who did it and my number.

Let's hope in the future a bit of Karma comes my way if some idiot decides to hit me

Sounds like a scruffy bugger.

Do you think she might reject / accept on the basis of the quality of your ride?

Someone did just that to me a couple of years ago, ran into my Alfa 146 & saw a neighbour looking on. Sadly the neighbour didn't get the number plate as she thought the driver was being decent about it.

Probably, but then I'll just tell her that I'm a powerfully built company director who drives this to keep my identity safe. smile

It was just nice to think that there are still decent people out there.

Only the day before I'd used the car to take some stuff to the tip and it's covered in garden debris so I really wouldn't have expected anyone to give a hoot.

Got more to take the weekend then it'll get a wash back to a respectable state.

Someone once hit my car in a car park and there were witnesses who left their details. Sadly, when I reported it to the police, the witnesses decided they no longer wanted to be involved and declined to give statements. Not sure why they bothered in the first place.

She wasn't a passer by. She was the woman who hit your car. Somebody saw her, so she made a big show of writing a note and leaving it on your windscreen, but she actually wrote the witness' details down instead.

Rather than a box of chocolates, send her a dog turd in a box, and then set fire to her house.

Or something....

My sister got hit by another car, but as she was in the car at the time they exchanged details, etc. He sent her flowers afterwards, eventually went out on a date and ended up getting married. That was about 15 years ago and my BIL still gets his leg pulled about it.
