Our house was broken into (while we were asleep upstairs!) around midnight on 28/29th July 2012. They knew what they wanted - our cars. They grabbed the keys to my S4 and my wife's S3 and drove off... we didn't hear a thing!

My car was recovered, thankfully.

The police said the burglars stole another Audi (spot the theme here...?) a few miles from our house and that car and my wife's were registered on their ANPR system at 10:20am on the 29th July heading into South Yorkshire. The other Audi was found by the police but my wife's pride and joy is sadly still missing - gutted.

Its registration is RK07 RJK and it is a 5 door, 2011 S3 in Sprint Blue with aluminium roof rails. It had less than 7000 miles on the clock and was in really good nick. Black leather interior, flappy paddle 'box, sat nav. Oh, and a maxi-cosi priorifix car seat for my 18 month-old son which has probably been sold to a man in a pub by now.

If you see a 5 door blue S3, aluminium roof rails etc in the S. Yorks area that you might be a little suspicious about, can you please post a reply? I know the chances are slim and it's either in Europe or UAE somewhere, but you never know.....

Thanks!

P.S. If you have uPVC French/Patio doors, check the locks! The 'standard' lock can be snapped by people who know how - that's how they got entry into our house. We now have snap-proof locks on our doors. http://www.lincs.police.uk/About/Departments/Local...
