Big thanks to John for the charity rides yesterday at brands

I just want to say a big thank you to John for taking the time out and taking us out on the track in his V12 Vanquish at brands hatch yesterday. Same goes for all the other guys who did the same too.

Also thanks for the drinks and enjoy the tie!

Thanks for the tie, will everyone think I am a Royal Marine Commando now if I wear it to meetings Tracy is off to get me another tie today, but who argues with a Marine when he says lets swap ties

Hope to meet you all again and get some more Astons along to give rides, I think being the only one there the queue was getting crazy at times....

Royal Marines Charitable Trust day, where we drive around the track taking guys around who have served and are serving in the Royal Marines. Some of the lads have had injuries like you would not believe and I took out a triple amputee (Spider) who was a cracking bloke. You think it is hard getting in and out of a V12V, this bloke managed it... A lot of IED injuries and alike, but not one complaint about their lot, only thanks to the guys in Porches, Ferarri's (mainly) and the odd proper car for giving up our time.

I sat with some very special guys last night at dinner also and I had a great day with them. We think a bad day is kerbing a wheel or someone scratching the car, you dont want to know what a bad day is for these guys.

So now when you give me a hard time on the forum I have friends that will come and visit you at night

I'm sure one or two more Astons would attend a future event given sufficient notice and balance things out a little against the German and Italian marques.

Now John, won't call you CockerKnee just in case 'the boys' call round after me tonight, do you need tyres BEFORE Spa?? I know you said these guys were brave but getting in a car on track with YOU...well thats above and beyond the call of duty

John, before the next one can you check the drivers footwell carpet is not stuck under the throttle pedal like
yesterday.......or the spark plug leads are all on!!! Lol

You are right it was only running on 12 Now under normal circumstances I would say that is fighting talk, but on this occasion I am staying quiet

I have to say I have met Peter96 match in the drinking stakes.

I will get along some more Astons next time as there seemed to be a separate queue forming and as it was a Club Scuderia day it was mainly Ferrari. I will speak to the man that organises it as it is the same time next year.

Getting in a car with him does not constitute therapy in my book but I would have endured it for a nice piece of bakewell tart

No cake just crates of beer and champagne for those fella's. I do have to say that 1 guy asked if it was his last lap and when I said yes, he said thanks f@&k for that .

I have had an email from Richard 'the organiser' who has said that he would happily consider more Astons for next August. So I will put anyone in contact with him that is genuinely interested in doing these kind of events? Not quite track days in the true sense, but great fun and very humbling.
