Should I be cross

Whilst refitting the sump to my 1998 Chim 500 I noticed that it is not a cross bolted block. I would have thought it should have been on a later car. It has the blanks? there for what I assume the bolts would have gone through. Is this what is known as an intrim block. What do you think.

Hello bloke,
From my understanding very few 500's have cross-bolted block, maybe some later ones as opposed to the 450's [4.6 range Rover] which are mostly all cross-bolted hence them being a good start point for major mods'.
