In a very large box!

In the past when I've sent large items like this I wrap the surfaces in bubble wrap, put cardboard/foam/polysterien blocks on the edges to stop them getting damaged then wrap the lot up in a few layers of plastic and make sure there are no parts that can easily get stuck on something causing the packaging to tear. It probably doesn't make a difference but fragile stickers also go on there.

I've done that a few times now and things have always arrived undamaged to my best knowledge.

I use http://www.myparceldelivery.com/ or http://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/ (they are more or less the same) so the courier changes each time you use them, although they do say which one will be used and sometimes you get a choice. Think in the past I've had City Link and UPS and couldn't fault either.
