Back on sale again, this time with a bit of gauntlet throwing Paul
Add to this the price for Warren to make it look more aesthetically pleasing under the bonnet and away I go! Just need the right numbers tonight

LS7, LS3. What does LS mean?
7,3 I guess refers to the engine size...?

Hold on that thought for a bit, before toy spend the money. I'll be able to explain a lot more in a bit...Buzz
As for this car, it's properly built by all accounts. Dennis knows his cars...

Air filter is in a terrible position - we know as we ran the car for a very short time with it there and know what harm it did to the power. The exhaust manifold is verging on unbelievable, do not know what to say about the water pipes and where is the secondary oil cooling? I would want to know a lot more about the main exhaust as well as the rear tips and position are standard from the ones that went to Japan? I had to have one made from manifolds back as the origonal was way to restrictive on power.
It looks like it is fly by wire - now this is ok (makes the conversion a little more sensible on price) but it means they are using the chevy ECU so it is not very mappable meaning they are not running as much power as I am (well most know this anyway).
I would not normally say anything but as they have put what they have I have decided to break silence like a spoilt bratt
Quicker than mine - yeah whatever
All in my humble opinion of course!

that looks like its evolved some way beyond the original installation and I'm sure the work didnt come cheap.
68K for a new car with some rework to optimise the power (if you should so desire) does seems like a fair price. Fastest road going Sagaris available - it probably is, but only because yours isn't available. Fastest Sagaris - probably not.

Not seen you around for a while Mr Brat

How's tricks ??

What's the story on the Dennis Leach car anyway. Was it bought in bits at the wind up of the factory? Was it finished but just needed a lump? What state of build was it before DL got hold of it? Who built / finished it? No pictures of the interior. Little history given here.
Paul's car is obviously very special and to some extent bespoke, but the development Paul and Topcats undertook means the same conversion will undoubtedly come in a fair bit cheaper now to prospective new takers. We should be thankful to Paul and the Topcats crew for that... The R & D has been done.
I don't dispute that Dennis knows his cars, but I personally couldn't live with the under bonnet aesthetics, even if I had the spare cash. Put the two engine compartment photo's together and (without meaning to sound like a dick), I would be nail gunning the bonnet down, not having a flip bonnet on it! Only my opinion of course

Don't know the history, but DLs work is usually top drawer.
A sucessfull conversion for me must look like it "left the factory like that". Pauls does, the DL car is quite a way short, but....
If all the bits underneath and in the 4 corners are as I would expect from DL, it could be refined (in my opinion) with a "reasonable" sum of money - still leaving a VFM car if that's what you want.

Sorry Paul but that's a bit of miss information, the OE GM PCM's are far more advanced than most aftermarket units and are 100% mappable. No idea how to multi quote -
Hi John, All good thanks. Like usual flying forwards and backwards from the USA, I have raced in the all the events in Britcar this year as well as a couple of Mazda rounds so keeping nice and busy.
The Sag conversion expensive? Not according to family members
Hi Blair,
I am no expert so please excuse me, this is all in my humble opinion.
As you state the GM ECU is very advanced - I believe there are only 2 people in the UK who map them, they come with a base map which is very good but does need tweaking.
Once you start to alter the engine with cams etc they become much harder to tune, where as Omex,Motec etc have a far wider base of tuners available and are to some extent easier to alter.
When GM as with other OE manufacturers develop an ECU they spend millions and months on a tune in dyno cells, a very hard thing for a mapping engineer to replicate on a budget.
Paul........

Cant say World's fastest TVR can they!?
Nope, I think a couple of us are going to go for that crown on your head at some stage. I want to drive to the location, do the run on the same tyres then drive home.
What was your speed on the street tyres you went on? Something very very close like 197 or something?

255/35-17 made 199.99mph 3 times!!, i put the 265/35-17 slicks on and it achieved 202.00mph first run, easily. What was your speed on the street tyres you went on? Something very very close like 197 or something?
If they had been 265/35-17 roadtyres it would have been the same result.
I have some 275/35-17 road tyres, and better valve springs, 208mph seems where the maths put it now.
Whomever cracks it will be the second guy on the moon

Thats a great line.200 MPH is a serious number what ever the car and it is hard for most to understand why it is such a big number especially as most want their cars to be good at a number of things not just top speed.

Going back to topic.....
I forgot to say, the car for a sale is still a good price, mine is a 2008 car so very late and this one is even more recent.
With the car mine cost considerably more than that to build.
What's the brief history on your car then Paul ?? What with the factory finally folding in Dec 2006, where was the car until 2008 ?? Are you the first registered keeper ??I forgot to say, the car for a sale is still a good price, mine is a 2008 car so very late and this one is even more recent.

There are a couple of articles on my car, one in the TVR car club magazine going through my journey with it. Yes it was not completed at the factory, it went to the receivers and then finished at David Gerald TVR and registered in 2008. I only had it for 7K from new when I decided to have the engine taken out and have the LS7 put in. I did a bit with the S6 including heater by pass value, decats, different chips etc but it was not for me.Gassing Station | Tamora, T350 & Sagaris | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
