Classified categories need work

The classifieds seems to be divided up in a pretty biased fashion. The BMW section for example, almost seems as if it has a different section for each colour, let alone each separate model. I know a lot of folk here on PH think the sun shines out of the marques behind but others like me, believe that aside the E30 M3, they couldn't make a proper drivers car if one was rammed down their throats. So much fuss over so much mediocrity.
So how about some better categories with other marques ? The pre89 porsche category is a prime case in point and is hopelessly inclusive of all sorts of different models spanning 25 yers or more, making browsing particularly irksome. Similarly, RS models should have their own section and same goes for the the 964 turbo and 993 turbo. In a continued theme, Lotus needs an elise S3 section and an Exige V6 section as well. There are other instances but hopefully you get the picture.

I wouldn't rule out your suggestion either. As is usually the case we try to do this if there are enough cars in what would be the two categories after a suggested split to make it worthwhile. It will, but it won't be immediately. Our priority at present is to complete the programme of shifting traffic from the old site to the new, so that we can switch the old one off.
However if you're keen to see change and want to put the effort in, feel free to go into as much detail as you'd like about which categories you'd make more granualar. We'd be extremely grateful!

So still nothing done about the porsche section but someone has found time to create a paul stephens category ????
How did that happen then. A backhander ? Or is it because PS is a paying advertiser.
We dont even need a paul stephens category either, its helping noe one apart from mr Stephens whereas subdividing some of the porsche categories would have benefited many pistonheads users who are looking for a use car . Poor show pistonheads.

Except you found time to create a new category for Paul Stephen's cars. How long did that take you ? All of 2 minutes ?Please tell me who I email to have my own category created ? I would like a new "911's restored by jackal" category implemented ASAP please.
I'll be honest and say it feels like a bit of a kick in the shins. And it throws up all sorts of other questions too. What about an Autofarm category, or a Tognola RS recreation category, or RPM restored 911s, or how about a Canford Classics category (whose work I would put far far higher than PS IMO).
To be honest there are no end of folk who modify and restore Porsches and you have to allow all of them if you are going to allow one. The floodgates are opens as they say !
I think it would be a terrible move if the Porsche section became full of this type of thing ... the thrust of my original thread was to try and clean things up and make it easier to use the classifieds, not harder. The amount of people who set out specifically to purachse something like a Paul Stepehens car is so microscopic that its just completely inappropriate IMO.
