Has anybody had any recent experience buying a car from Aston Martin Wilmslow? I almost bought a used v8v from them two years ago but the experience was so appalling I left disgusted and impulse bought a Porsche.

I bought my DB9 from them over a year ago and had a fantastic experience with them, they couldn't have been nicer to deal with, they helped me source the spec car that I wanted . I recently had my DB9 7 year service done at their service centre and they too were fantastic , very helpful and accomodating. thumbup

OP,

If your over 6'2" you should be alright as they seem to pick on folk of slightly less stature,if in any doubt and you want to proceed
in any attempt to deal with them get Tony to go with you.........simple no messing.

But remember to ask yourself do Leopards change their spots and can you forgive them your previous experience.irked

I doubt the same people even work there 2yrs later?

Is is 'Wimms-low' or "Will-ms-low'?

I bought my first Vantage from Wilmslow and am buying my V12VR through them too - I deal with Martin there. I've always found them excellent to deal with but I do understand that one bad experience with a dealership, even if it's primarily the result of one individual's behaviour, puts you off ever going back

I can only speak for the service team they are first class, understand everyone isn't a millionaire and are great to deal with.

Sales I have spoken with when considering a DBS and have been very professional, everyone has off days and maybe you came in just after another penniless dreamer had wasted an hour of their time?

Give them a call, tell them what you want to achieve and they will help you

The 2nd one.

I have the services done there, no issues with them at all, a very good service.

They do
It is the later
And I wouldn't after 2 attempts to buy from them and 18 months of unsatisfactory service and warranty work

You surprise me, I can't imagine why you would feel like that. To buy from them you make an offer they accept or decline, could this be px value based?

I bought my V12V from Wilmslow. Samantha the sales lady was brilliant. Used the service department last year and they were very helpful and got a good deal.
I would recommend.

Thanks for the input guys.

My head says by a 911 cabriolet but my heart says go back and look at a v8v. It turned out that my local Porsche dealership has excellent customer service, beyond anything I have experienced before. I am just not in love with their cars.

I am just not sure I want to deal with the guys at Wilmslow again and it sounds like the same people are still there, which means trekking across country to get all the niggles and servicing done.

My frustration with them on purchase relates to a brand new factory order where ALL the dealers had been given a rebate for a delivery in September.
Wilmslow chose to keep it rather than pass it to the customer as intended by the factory frown
That combined with not listening to my requirements frown

Talk to a guy called Phil - who's back next Sunday. He's a really nice bloke and I expect you'll get great service.

Mikey I hear what you say, was it just Wilmslow or all Strats? Not their fault if it's group policy and I would be surprised if they decided they didn't want your order.

I may be in the market for a Aston soon and would speak to them first.

There's one rotten egg at Wilmslow - if you're unlucky enough to deal with him your trust in that Dealership will be compromised.

The rest of the team are excellent and the Service Dept are beyond repproach, especially when Keith and Alan were running the show. The warranty work they undertook for me put all my BMW Dealers to shame.

I bought my DB9 from Scott Smith 2.5 years ago before he moved on to Porsche in Bolton then elsewhere. Top bloke.

As a matter of best practice you should also be forging links outside of the Stratstone network - Max @ JCT in Leeds, Lloyd @ Grange in Exeter, Rachel @ Broughtons in Cheltenham - all excellent to deal with. McGurks are also an excellent Indy - going for Heritage status I believe - with some nice cars to sell.

I'm in business, and I don't cut off my nose to spite my face. My next upgrade may well be through Samantha at Wilmslow. All I would advise is to have a few irons in the fire to ensure you get the best deal smile

Just make sure he doesn't add extra money onto the price of the car compared to what was on the AM approved used website, as happened to one member on here...

I've only had positive dealings with all the staff at Wilmslow having purchased a V8 and used their service department.

However if you want to experience the worst customer facing sales staff then go into a Land Rover dealer.

Totally agree - Lloyd at Grange has 'persuaded me' to part with money on three separate occasions - and that isn't easily done biggrin Also found Rachel at Cheltenham excellent to deal with as well.

I have to say I find been to a variety of dealers, throughout the country (from cheshire to derby, from hagley to essex, from chelmsford, exeter to cardiff) and I find the Aston Martin ones a nightmare, and often very unprofessional, to deal with. They don't return calls, say they will email you with information when they do not (and then when they do email you it is with rubbish you actually didn't ask for) and their part-ex values are often laughable. I mean I appreciate they need to make money but at least don't lie or talk rubbish to me in order to do so. Occasionally you get a good egg, but that is often blighted by the managers above them. Many a time they have lost a sale purely because I am not satisfied with their service or they try to be particularly condescending and I am a firm believer if the buying experience is rubbish then it does not bode well for the servicing experience. I suppose being Aston Martin I excepted a lot better service, but so far they have been a lot of show with not must substance.
