Hello there. My first post on this forum so bear with me!

I am looking to buy a new second-hand car around Nov/Dec this year.

I work as a parcel courier so am looking to get an estate car. Would prefer a hot hatch but there we go!

Anyway, what would your recommendations be on a good car to buy. My price range is up to £2000 so bargai9n basement really!

Woould be looking for car with a decent sized cargo area, petrol engined (don't do amny miles as based in Norwich), fairly cheap to run and something with half decent engine and handling characteristics. Mybe a Vauxhall Astra estate? Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help

Ford Focus Estate with a 1.8l petrol engine would be my recommendation. Drives a lot nicer than the equivalent Astra IMO. You could probably get an E46 BMW 3 Series Touring for that money, a 318i should be pretty good on fuel.

What about an Older (MK2?) Mondeo? Pretty sure you could pick up a half decent E36 touring for that too.

Primera P12 Estate?

Had one for a while. Huge inside, faultlessly reliable. Really nice cabin. Great drive with good handling (for a big barge of a car). Very good on fuel (1.8 16v returned 38mpg average).

Exterior looks are subjective but its such a big chunky car up close. Really imposing imo.

Worth a look anyway. I would buy another in a second. I might actually.
