They will be missing because they have a habit of staying on and flattening the battery, leaving you in the dark in more ways than one!
In answer, not a clue but I may have a couple knocking about, ill have a look when I finally get time to get in the garage.(could be some time)

Generic Ford units, although VW and others used similar-sized items (think my car now has ex-VW ones with three-position switch, they dropped straight in).
The original boot lamps on the 390 had no switch and were opaque rectangular things with rounded ends made from very brittle plastic. I used VW ones there as well.

Hi Rev, yeah I know third wedge and ninth Tiv, had bit of a break after selling the Griff but couldn't keep away for too long....
Wedgie do you know what model VW they're from? The boot light is present as you describe and also same type in the glovebox....
Cheers, Al.

I can't recall what model VW, something 80s so probably a Golf or Passat. I think they're Hella units so probably as used by most Euro makers beside Ford. Just have a wander around a scrappy (if they'll still let you)...
Hi, everyone.
Not trying to hijack the thread, but I am renovating an '86 280i convertible. I need a picture of the area around the light (behind the seats). My car came with the ugliest upholstery (magnolia color?) and I am changing it to a camel color, which should go well with the Ferrari red color paint. When I got the pieces back from the upholsterer it looks like something is missing above the panel with the light, speaker and safety belt slot; below the convertible top. The missing piece covers the gas filler on one side and some bodywork on the other.
Oh, yes, I also need to replace the lights - probably with LEDs.
Any help appreciated.
Wilf.
