Heated seats anyone ?
Discussion
I specified them on my Griff 500 because I enjoy driving with the roof down in winter so yes they are a TVR option, about £200 if I remember correctly. They are squabs only but very good and are operated by pushing in one of the four multi-function heater buttons, the one that also switches on the heated mirrors I think. I'll check in the morning if you want.

My '92 also has them randomly. The old style fan speed switch pulls out to operate seeminly. I'm too scared of bursting into flames and spinning off the face of the earth to try them out for any length of time

Looks like they were factory fitted as the cable runs appear to be original fitting as they are under the carpet in places.
I haven't given it much thought so far as to will I keep them.....have yet to find the controls.....what might I be looking for ???
Yep it was a factory fitment on that car (my old Ocean Haze?) and they are switched on/off via one of the heater control knobs (push down to turn on as per the blower on the top right knobb) can't remember if it was top or buttom left knobb that turned the heated seats on I haven't given it much thought so far as to will I keep them.....have yet to find the controls.....what might I be looking for ???

E.T.A....just remembered, its the top left heater control knob(push pull) and theres an LED just to the right of it that eluminates yellow. (its also noted in the owners manual page 11/12)

For reference Chims had additional electric windows style buttons either side of the transmission tunnel.
If you want to go aftermarket, we've had Waeco (MSH 50 - http://waeco.com/za/4381_6361.php?hirID=174&sp... ) items fitted to the Fabia vRS, although the now do other versions.
They're not as quick to heat up as OEM fitment jobs, but they get very toasty.

Not too sure that this option, along with the A/C that my car has is slightly pointless on these cars, with an interior that gets very toasty very quickly, and a roof that comes off if it is too hot .....
As someone who used one for two years as their only car, I would have welcomed heated seats on a winter morning.Gassing Station | Griffith | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
