Nearly Made a Complete Ass of Myself (again)

I thought I would share this with you, I'm currently composing the list for this weekends work on the Griff.
My speedo doesn't work and my reversing lights are on all the time (someone had removed the bulbs previously and I didn't notice!), looking at the wiring diagram I noticed that the 'speed transducer' and the 'reverse light switch' have some wires in common.
Soooo I quickly put 2 and 2 together and came up with far too many, I worked out that one was effecting the other (thought it a bit strange to have them linked in this way but it is a TVR), concocted a very technical post in my head and was just about to put fingers to keyboard when I noticed I was reading the wiring diagram the wrong way around
and the 2 faults aren't linked in anyway.
Anyone else care to come to confession??? or am I the only one??

When I bought my Griff I decided to buy a small tool kit to keep in the boot (don’t know why). Any way when I got home and had a play with it the sockets didn’t fit on the wrench properly. So I took it back to Halfords to swap the wrench, where the sales man showed me how to push the little button which stops them falling off.

About 20 years ago (god I must be ancient!) I was running a moggie convertable, had a wedding to go to on the afternoon and the car wouldn't start, my mate who was a supossed good mechanic said the head gasket had gone, 2 hours later with the gasket changed and me with ingrained oil etc - no change.
Ended up being the condenser, cost about £2.00, 2 min fix, no dirt - I also served my apprenticeship as a fitter

God mate it's really close, weathers a bit crap today but I've got reverse lights (switch on gear box), speedo (again gearbox area), replace rear pads (discs look good), trim and fit metal dash panel and work out intermittent alarm/central locking prob, fit complete wipers and new leven jets, sort out horn...........and then robert is your mothers brother...MOT, in reality next weekend 
Who's done this one: numpty with tin box & intermitant starting fault, goes to Hal's buys new starter to find the real cause was a faulty battery. Numpties next tin box, same problem numpty thinks
