Took the wedge out for a blast today and since i have done 26000 miles from the day i bought it i know the local roads very well now so gave it some welly as they say. Returned home and couldnt help noticing that an Audi had been following me for some time , as i pulled up on the driveway the Audi stopped behind me and a well dressed man got out and introduced himself as Mark and proceeded to admire the wedge for sometime. There where lots of questions and looking over the car he declared that he had been looking for a good wedge for some time and that mine seemed to fit the bill, was it for sale he enquired . I thought for a while and declared that everything is for sale at the right price. With no messing about he offered £6.500 if all the paper work was present and correct and it had full service history which of course it does. Thats £1000 more than i paid for it 4 years ago. This was the moment i found out what a true wedgeist i am because i just could not entertain the idea of not having my wedge not even for that amount of money. Am i rich " no " am i mad " maybe " but i am a wedge man through and through ( its a form of addiction you know )

I'd have considered it, infact her indoors would be told to fashion her bestest negligee, smile alot and I'd have tried to get a couple of more pennies off him for my ever so tidy 400SE... (I'm poor)

Mad - well we're all barking here - but it helps...

On the other hand you could take his 6.5k and trade up to a 400SE.... that way the prices all go up a bit, very slightly, on average...

You should know there is no 'F' in Mad......

He might have just convinced me to part with my 280i for that sort of money, but I'm keen to keep it as it is such an early one (definately in the first 8 built!)

He obviously knew/thought it was worth more if he was so keen to buy it at that price.

I still maintain the "silly grin factor" is worth more than money.....but then I think I'm mad as well..
