Best car stereo from the factory?
Discussion
Has anyone owned a car and been blown away by the high quality of the factory sound system?
It can be an optional upgrade, doesn't have to be standard but it mus have left the factory like it.
95% of the standard systems I've encountered are utterly rubbish, the only half decent one being the bose 'concert' on my friend's old S3 but it was by no means great!

I've got Harman Kardon Logic 7 in my daily driver and that's very good. Better actually than the same system in another previous identical car.
The car I'm picking up in September has Burmester. Never heard it before but I am expecting it to be excellent.
the 5.5k audi bang and olufsen upgrade on the audi A8 range is simply phenomonal.
far better than my proper seperates system at home!

The one in my Hyundai Coupe was incredible. I don't know if the previous owner had it installed or not, but if they're all like that then that is some achievement. The one in my Astra is half-decent, perhaps ever so slightly above average.
I heard the stereo in the old Mitsubishi 3000GTs is meant to be very good?

I had the HK in my M6 - its was superb. I think the best I have heard was a Mark Levinson in a Lexus. Virtually perfect.I've got Harman Kardon Logic 7 in my daily driver and that's very good. Better actually than the same system in another previous identical car.

Manks, you will not be disappointed. My OPC lent me a Panamera with a Burmeister system. I was blown away, as were my friends and neighbours who heard it. The clarity in the sound at ridiculously loud levels was absurd. The only drawback was that you could hear the difference between copied cd's, mp3 and original cd's. So much so, it changed what I listened to. I ended up digging out old ac/dc albums to demonstrate it.
