Question : Remotely closing the windows ?

I'm a bit surprised that when I lock my nice new ( for me ) V8V with the remote it does not wind the windows up. I've been though the manual and I can't find any mention of this. Given that it does that business with the windows when you open or close a door, I would have thought winding the windows up would have been standard. And it would be very useful as I have to squeeze out of it in my garage and it would be much easier with the window down.
Even my 1999 Esprit V8 closed the windows when you locked it with the remote !!
So, does it not do it ? or am I missing something ?

Do they go up on your Fabia vRS? If not then you can activate the feature with a vagcom (or dealer can do it). This is what I am wondering about with the Aston and AMDS.

I know the Ford's do "lose" the global closing if you disconnect the battery.
The procedure to re-enable the feature is to drop the window from the button on the driver's side. Then close the window, release the button. Then press close again for another 3 seconds. Repeat with the other window(s).

After a low or flat battery resetting the windows may be required, the tell-tale sign is when a door is opened the window drops slightly an on closing the door the window does not return to the closed position,
1. Sitting in the car with the ignition switch turned on with all doors closed, press and hold the electric window switch in the down position, once the window is fully down keep the button pressed for a further 5 seconds, you may hear a click as the window position is relearned,
2. now send the window fully up again when the window reaches the top continue to hold the button for a further 5 seconds again a click may be heard,
3. repeat the above procedure for the other window
And no Aston's don't remotely close the windows

I think that's what the OP is talking about. That is what I am talking about anyway. If you hold the unlock button the windows open, but if you hold the lock button, they don't wind up.
Yep, that's what I mean. I friend suggested to me yesterday they might wind up if you hold the lock button on the remote - but no.But, I've just tried holding the unlock button down and the windows don't lower either.
I know there is something in the manual about resetting the windows but I can't find it now.

How to read this? (there are) NO Aston's (that) do NOT remotely close the windows (so, ANY Aston will be able do it?)

No! Aston's do NOT remote close the windows (also not after the resetting procedure)

But ok, my DBS also does not CLOSE the windows, but also not OPENS them with the remote, and the latter (remote controlled opening) could be solved by the mentioned reset procedure?
