Had reduced mpg, felt very flat and then almost "2 stroke" power band performance ... if revs between 2500 - 3000 then excellent otherwise totally flat.

Removed and cleaned EGR, now better at higher revs, pulls smoothly 2000 revs up, but NOTHING HAPPENS below 2000 revs, V DANGEROUS as I found out yesterday pulling off at r'bout!!!!!

Help....ideas please ???

Replace the valve - cleaning it won't always work. From my experience, it's easier to just change it.

Not sure if an 02 engine will allow it, but older JTDs you could just block off the EGR valve with a plate, some newer models you'd need to disable it in the ECU.
