POSTED WITH PERMISSION

Just a quick heads-up for those who may be interested, but Waxstock is being held at Peterborough Arena (PE2 6XE) on Sun 26th August 2012. This is a car care festival/show with numerous exhibitors (from large companies like 3M, Autosmart, Meguiars and Farecla to the smaller specialists like Dodo Juice, Zaino and Angelwax), tuition 'masterclasses', show and shine competitions and a little bit more...

It's the first event of its kind and if you are even vaguely interested in looking after your car from a detailing perspective, then it should be a good day out. Tickets are 8 GBP in advance from www.waxstock.com and 10 GBP on the gate.

Kelly Harris from KDS and DaveKg from Detailing World will be amongst the experts offering advice. And it's all indoors so can't be curtailed by rain.

Thanks to Paul at PH for allowing this to be posted up. As a new show the aim isn't to spam but merely to raise awareness for those who may be interested in attending. The show is also supporting three charities on the day: Sebastian's Action Trust, East Anglian Air Ambulance and Marcus Rutherford Foundation.

Whether entering the Arrive and Shine competition, learning about machine polishing or seeing a wax being made live on stage, we hope some of you can make it.

Is this for professionals only? Would someone like me with a keen interest in detailing at the weekend worth going?

Nope its for everyone , The reason why Dom has posted it on here.

There will be lots of Professionals going mainly to either/OR

1)Man their own show stands and demos,
2)Answer questions on detailing and products,
3)Take customers and their own cars,
4)Judge comps
5)Enter some comps for fun and win great prizes

(which you can include me in all of the first 4 above)

It wont be JUST detailing , it will have companys like 3M their, so anything paint and bodywork i am sure can be covered too.

I am painting a few things for the day to wink

There will be wrapping demos (paint protection and colour change films), machine polisher lessons and testing, masking demos, wax making, an 'embarrassing bodywork' drop in surgery for paint ailments... plenty going on. For general public and trade, at all levels of interest and expertise. smile

It is a completely different show to Stamford. We are actually encouraging those who are expecting a normal car event to go to Stamford. It's free but totally unlike our show.

There are hundreds of date clashes with shows but this is the only show of its type this year. Stamford is close enough (and free) for both shows to be done in one day, if people wish.

It seems everything is happening that weekend, it sounds like a good show, so hopefully it returns next year!

I hope so as I can't make this one, which is a shame as it looks like it could be very interesting.

Yup, we are planning 2013 as we speak. We have strong advance tickets sales and a packed hall with 50-60 exhibitors/features. CarFest cropped up on the date as well, but it would have been far worse in June! Hope some of you can make it next year. smile

There is a classic car show on nearby, on the same day. Free to enter and a good one for the kids as Waxstock is a bit more 'detail geek' wink

http://www.stamfordroundtable.co.uk/events/car-sho...

Visiting both in the same day is possible though.

Tim
Tim nice to meet you too wink

you was one of the only people to come up introduce yourself and say Hi .

most either just started asking questions of how when why without saying "Hi i am XXXXX nice to meet you" or something along those lines, so i have no idea who i was speaking to.

Did the day go well for you and your stand ??

I never got chance to actually walk around and view any stands , I spoke to Dom well Dom grabbed me and said "buddy your on stage very soon let me by you a drink before hand" , and spoke to a few others but most of my day was busy with different task's .
