Just bought a Cooper S (2003) and want to upgrade the pulley to 15 or 17%. I have read all of the intercooler upgrade logs but tbh I only use the car to commute so reckon I will go with the 17%.
1. What are the best 2-3 pulley brands ?
2. Are induction kits worth the money or does heat soak mean replacing the filter panel for a K&N/Piper panel is best ?
3. What spark plugs should I upgrade to ?
Cheers guys

A DaveF replacement airbox for the filter (requires a small bit of DIY), a KAVS pulley for the charger pulley and for the plugs either JCW's (Think they're NGK BKR7EIX?) or NGK BCR8ES (much cheaper but need changing every 12,000 miles)

You can do it as a DIY job but you'll definately need the pulley puller which makes the job so much easier, I took my old pulley off with a dremel (the stock pulley's are heat shrunk on) which I wouldn't recommend nor ever do again!!! The craven speed ones are the best pullers http://www.lohen.co.uk/shop/proddetail.php?prod=Cr...

Thanks for the info. will the pulley removal tool be easy to sell on afterwards? as it seems a pretty expensive tool to use once.

I have been researching this over past few days and was going to DIY it but it seems that 2 companies will fit the pulley, belt amd plugs AND do a Health check, all for £222 inc VAT. No point in buying the parts for £130 odd and then the tool for approx 50 quid and then spending 2-4hrs under the bonnet. Might as well get it fitted by a pro for the sake of an extra 20-30 quid, knowing that they will do it properly. Booking mine in for nxt week. All IMO.

I should imagine it won't be hard to sell on afterwards, however as Alistair say's for the extra money you'd be just as well getting coastal/Mad4Mini/Lohen/PTorque/1320/minipro/Minicraft fitting it dependant on where in the country you are
