Reading the hot hatch thread I remembered being a regular poster on www.renault1916v.co.uk this would have been from about 1997, there were from memory quite a few people on there but it was realy basic and grammar was never an issue!

hehe

Anybody else? I reckon some are still going, that one isn't unfortunately, although I found some of my posts on an archive, cringeworthy biggrin

not sure if it was actually the 90's, might have been 2000-2001, what was the the early evo forum called? I used to regularly read and post on that.

Maybe my memory is clouded but I remember the top poster on the forum didn't actually have a car. He was just somebody with a dull job and internet access.

Late 90's early 2000 - www.corsasport.co.uk

There are a few members who have been there for over 10 years. A large majority of the old guys/regulars dont even have a corsa any more. Lots of e46 M3, z4, few 911, evo, astra vxr, r26 megane, s2000 etc.

IIRC the early "forums" were Yahoo groups

Which meant getting all messages Emailed to you.

I used to be the LR-Mad forum back around 2003. I never did find out what happened to that forum, it seemed to disappear into thin air

I was on Cavweb.co.uk in the late 90`s, i think it still survives under a different name these days, possibly VXON.

I joined MG-Rover.org in 2002 and SaabScene/Saabcentral not long after, closely followed by Pistonheads. A long time before that though I was using a text based multi-user BBS called Monochrome that had a fairly busy car section. Unbelievably it seems that it is still going! I joined that in 1994.

I was an early member of vx220.org.uk, but that was quite late for car forums. (site started in late 2002) Before that it was a yahoo group.

I started on the web in about 1998 - but didn't really get into forums until later.....

I was on there as a student, around 1991, along with some Usenet groups and the Minilist email group.

I was on A4.org in '96 which then went on to become AudiWorld.com. It looks as though AudiWorld hasn't moved with the times despite being very popular and a real heavyweight.

In 91???

Would be surprised if it was earlier than early 93/mid 92. Impressive early 'netter if true.

I was on the old-old-old-old PeugeotSport Club forum in 1998 when I was 16. May also have been on 'cruiseboard'. Oh the shame frown

I was on there too. A nice orange and blue colour scheme from memory.
